![]() They should include a Bach work, a contemporary work and something lyrical in nature or a 19th c. ![]() Prospective students should prepare three contrasting works from the repertoire. Applicants will be asked to sight-read and to demonstrate some technical activities such as scales, arpeggio patterns and so on. Students are encouraged to write directly with questions if they unsure about their repertoire. These may include selections from the Renaissance lute repertoire or movements of Bach suites, to concert works or etudes by Giuliani or Sor, to Spanish or South American works and contemporary pieces. Prospective students need to prepare two contrasting pieces from the classical repertoire. Specifics of the audition will be sent upon invitation, and will include conducting a rehearsal, partaking in a sample conducting lesson with the Director of Choral Studies, an interview with a faculty committee, and a performance on either voice or piano that displays the applicant’s musicality and expressive qualities. ![]()
